Sid's Story
Hi everyone, my name is Sid and don’t I have a story to tell!
I was born in 2012, my birth mum belonged to a park keeper in Morden Hall Park and a nice family came along and took me home when I was 8 weeks old. Life was sweet. They named me Sid. My new family had me chipped and vaccinated but I wasn't neutered as I was a bit young.
When I was about a year old, I went out... not to return. My family looked for me but couldn’t find me. Soon after I disappeared, my family saw a dead cat in the road and it was the spitting image of me, so they thought I was dead.
For 6 years, I had been straying here, there and everywhere until in 2018, a kind lady noticed me out on my own and started feeding me. She contacted WAR who came to save me. As always WAR checked for a chip and I had one! They contacted my family, who after 6 years were very surprised!
I wasn’t in great health; having been a stray for so long. So WAR got me to the vets who confirmed I have FIV. I went back to my family and my story even made the local papers!! I did love my family, but the call of the wild is strong in me so I sneaked out a few weeks later and disappeared again!
I was straying for another 3 years, until WAR was contacted about a stray cat... and boy were they surprised when they turned up and found out it was little old me again!
WAR contacted my family who are unfortunately not in a position to take me back this time and have signed me over. I am now safe and in foster with my foster Dad and not looking too bad for what essentially has been 9 years on the road.
I am now looking for my forever home; I must have an indoor only home and be the only cat as I am FIV positive and a wanderer and at my age I really just need a nice warm home with food and cuddles.
I told you I had a story to tell!! Luffs Sid, the retired escape artist!
