Applications are open for animals on our website/Facebook page and 'flexible' applications. Please read the information carefully on each cat before applying, to ensure they are suited to your home.
Get Involved with WAR
We are very grateful to everyone looking to support our Charity. Every single penny goes towards the day-to-day running of the rescue and helping the animals in our care. Here at WAR our team are ALL volunteers.
We are a home-based rescue, with all of our animals at WAR HQ or in family foster homes. As such we are very sorry, but unfortunately we are not in a position to offer work, school or voluntary placements, such as work experience, Duke of Edinburgh or general day-to-day help with the animals.
We are hugely grateful for all fundraising carried out for the benefit of our Charity. Previously our supporters have been involved in sponsored cycle rides, runs, sweet and cake sales and head shaves (admittedly that one was very brave!). We also have local/online business supporters who make a donation based on the sale of certain items. If you have an idea or event in mind please do let us know. We are happy to discuss your ideas with you and advertise your event/business/challenge on our Facebook page.
If you are a business and would like to donate to us or sponsor us in any way, including donations of items for our raffles/auctions, please do send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we would be very happy to have a chat with you.
We welcome donations of food and litter and good quality pet toys/items. We have a drop-off point at Purrfect for Pets in Green Wrythe Lane Carshalton and at Charlie's Sweet Shop, 39 Station Road in Sutton. Perfect for a little browse while you're dropping off :-). If it's a large item/donation or you're unsure if it's something we will need, please do get in touch with us directly first.

Interested in becoming part of our WAR foster team?
We are always looking for fosterers in the Wallington and Carshalton local areas. We ask for fosterers to live locally as we have to carry out regular trips to supply food, litter and to take animals for vet visits.
As a cat fosterer you DO NOT NEED A SPARE ROOM - we much prefer our cats to have the freedom to roam and be part of your family. We also DO NOT REQUIRE FOSTER HOMES TO HAVE GARDENS - for the safety and security of the animals in our care, they remain as indoor for their time with us in foster (except dogs of course).
If you would like to foster please do get in touch with us.
A physical home visit will be carried out - this is an opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you might have.
We supply all the food, cat litter, transportation to vets and any other supplies needed for our foster animals; all we need from you is time, warmth, love and compassion.
Fostering is a very important role in our rescue team; the more helping hands and loving homes we have, the more animals we can save. We have a dedicated Facebook group for our fosterers to keep in touch, ask questions, and share stories.
As a rescue we are currently receiving an unprecendented number of calls for help and we are very stretched. The more foster spaces we have the more ill, abused and injured animals we can save.
*****Please note we can only accept applications from non smoking homes for health and safety reasons.*****
