When adopting a pet...

We would require you to agree to, consent and abide to terms and conditions, to ensure the adoption process is complete safely and in a way that will guarantee the good welfare of the animal you are adopting.

We will discuss this and hand you an agreement copy upon the final stages of adoption, however we would like to make people aware of them beforehand too via this page.

Adoption Agreement Terms

I acknowledge that although this cat has been examined by a vet, Wallington Animal Rescue cannot make any guarantee of continued health or good behaviour.
 
(Adopter) hereby swear and attest that the following information is true and will be followed to the best of my abilities concerning the adoption of the pet listed above (hereafter referred to as "the cat"):

1. If the animal is not neutered, I will promise to arrange neutering at the appropriate age as per vets advice.
2. I will keep my animal up-to-date on all vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.
3. I will make sure that the animal has a suitable diet to maintain a healthy weight.
4. If the animal is not micro-chipped, I will ensure this gets done and will keep the microchip company updated with any changes.
5. If the adoption does not work out, I agree to offer the animal back to the rescue before seeking other placement.
6. I have/will pay the suggested donation of £85
7. I understand that no guarantee is made regarding the health or temperament of this animal.
8. I agree to take full financial responsibility for any further costs associated with the medical care from this date.

(Rescuer), hereby attest to the following information as being factual and true:

1. I have been upfront with the adopter about any known health issues the animal has, as well as any medication required.
2. I have made no misrepresentations regarding temperament, age or medical status of the animal to the best of my knowledge.

Data Protection: We will only use your data for administrative purposes and to contact you in relation to your cat’s adoption and welfare. We will never sell or share any details about you with other organisations.

You would not have to sign this until the latter stages of the adoption process, however it's good to be aware of it from the start.
